**Bengaluru, January 25, 2025** – Bengaluru is set to host the 76th Republic Day celebrations on Sunday, January 26th, with a grand parade featuring 38 contingents from various organizations, including the Karnataka State Reserve Police, Indian Army, Air Force, and BSF. A unique inclusion this year will be a contingent of visually impaired individuals.

The celebrations will take place at the Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground. Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda has announced stringent security measures to ensure a safe and incident-free event. He urged attendees to be seated by 8:30 AM, as entry will be prohibited thereafter. Security will be overseen by Deputy Commissioners of Police, supplemented by CCTV surveillance. Items such as cigarettes, crackers, water bottles, sharp objects, and lighters are strictly prohibited. Traffic diversions will be in place on Cubbon Road.

To accommodate the expected crowds, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will commence services an hour earlier than usual, at 6 AM, from all terminal stations. Twenty additional train trips will run on both the Green and Purple lines to facilitate travel to events like the Lalbagh Flower Show and a program at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre. Lalbagh Metro Station will offer ₹30 paper tickets (valid for single-day travel) between 10 AM and 8 PM to expedite passenger flow.
