**New Delhi, January 24, 2025** – The morning shift of the JEE Main examination held today was deemed easy to moderate in difficulty by experts. While Physics proved the most straightforward, Mathematics presented the greatest challenge to students, according to initial analyses.
Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited, provided a subject-wise breakdown. The Physics section, considered the easiest, primarily focused on Class 12 topics, particularly Optics and Electromagnetism. Class 11 topics and areas like Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were less prominent. Modern Physics had a moderate presence.
Chemistry, the second easiest section, covered most chapters fairly evenly but emphasized Inorganic Chemistry. Organic Chemistry also featured significantly, while Physical Chemistry had fewer questions. The section was described as straightforward and time-efficient.
In contrast, the Mathematics section proved more demanding, with a higher proportion of questions from Class 11 topics. Areas like 3D Geometry, Vectors, and Conic Sections were heavily represented, along with a significant number of Calculus questions. However, the lengthy calculations required in many problems made this section time-consuming and the most challenging for many students.
