Fri Jan 24 20:27:11 IST 2025: ## “Hisaab Barabar” Fails to Add Up: Madhavan Starrer Criticized for Weak Plot and Direction

**Mumbai, India** – The new R Madhavan, Kirti Kulhari, and Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer, *Hisaab Barabar*, has received a scathing review, failing to impress critics despite tackling the timely topic of bank corruption. While numerous Indian films have successfully explored similar themes, this latest offering falls short, deemed “neither well-intentioned nor well-made.”

The film centers on Radhe (Madhavan), an honest railway employee who uncovers a large-scale bank scam. His investigation leads him to Micky Mehta (Mukesh), the eccentric and poorly-developed antagonist, whose portrayal is criticized as laughably unconvincing. The plot, described as overly simplified and predictable, lacks suspense and emotional depth.

Reviewers point to amateur direction by Ashwani Dhar and weak writing by Ashwani and Ritesh Shastri as significant flaws. The supporting characters, including Rashami Desai’s Monalisa Yadav, add little to the narrative, contributing to a meandering and unengaging story.

Despite strong performances from Madhavan and Kulhari, the film’s limitations prevent them from elevating the material. The overall lack of entertainment value has led critics to question the film’s worth and suggest the makers owe viewers a better cinematic experience.
