**Bengaluru, January 24, 2025** – In a bid to improve student performance, the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will conduct two preparatory exams for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) in 2025. This initiative aims to familiarize students, particularly those from rural areas, with the OMR sheet format used in the main exam. According to KEA Executive Director Prasanna H., a significant number of students (10-15%) made mistakes with OMR sheets in previous years. The practice exams, using question papers prepared by Pre-University colleges and OMR sheets provided by KEA, will be held in all PU colleges across the state.
Meanwhile, the first day of KCET 2025 online registration saw 3,738 applicants by 6:30 p.m. This year marks the first use of an AI-powered facial recognition system with OTP verification, a process that reportedly proceeded without technical issues.
