**NEW DELHI** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced today that the Class 10 and 12 board examinations will commence on February 15, 2025. Approximately 44 lakh students will be participating across 204 subjects. In advance of the exams, the CBSE has released comprehensive guidelines emphasizing ethical conduct and strict adherence to examination rules.

The board’s notification highlights the importance of fair examinations for students’ academic interests and details the consequences of unfair means, as outlined in the updated Unfair Means Rules. Schools are instructed to thoroughly brief students and parents on these rules, including potential penalties for violations. The guidelines specifically address the prohibition of electronic devices, including mobile phones, within examination centers, emphasizing that their possession or use will be considered an act of unfair means resulting in stringent action. Students are also urged to refrain from spreading rumors that could disrupt the examination process.

To further ensure exam integrity, the CBSE’s CCTV Policy mandates the use of CCTV surveillance in all examination halls, monitored by designated officials. The board’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to fair and transparent examinations for all participating students.
