AYODHYA, Uttar Pradesh, January 24, 2025 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rallied support for the BJP candidate, Chandrabhanu Paswan, in the upcoming Milkipur assembly by-election, scheduled for February 5th. Addressing a public meeting in Ayodhya, Adityanath appealed to voters to secure a victory for “nationalist forces,” accusing the opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) of undermining national interests and religious sentiments.

Adityanath directly attacked the SP, alleging their complicity in the deaths of kar sevaks and accusing them of opposing the construction of the Ram Temple and the naming of Ayodhya’s airport after Maharishi Valmiki. He further criticized the SP for allegedly opposing the development of Guru Ravidas’ birthplace, aiming to garner Dalit votes. He highlighted the SP’s alleged support for individuals who disrespected Dalits and claimed the party hindered development initiatives undertaken by his government.

The Chief Minister also accused the SP of spreading false propaganda regarding the Maha Kumbh and of opposing the naming of three women PAC battalions after prominent female figures. He emphasized his government’s achievements, including the airport naming and development projects, contrasting them with the SP’s alleged obstructionist tactics. The by-election, necessitated by the previous SP MLA’s election to the Lok Sabha, is considered a high-stakes contest. The results will be announced on February 8th.
