MUMBAI, January 24, 2025 – Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer engaged in a heated argument with an umpire after being dismissed during a Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred during Mumbai’s second innings. Iyer was given out caught behind off Aukib Nabi Dhri’s bowling, a diving catch taken by wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Vadhav. Despite the umpire’s immediate decision, Iyer refused to leave the field, engaging in a prolonged dispute with the official. Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane also intervened in the argument.
