**Bengaluru, January 24, 2025** – A 28-year-old domestic worker was found bludgeoned to death on the Kalkere Lake bed in Ramamurthy Nagar on Friday morning. Police believe she was sexually assaulted before being killed.
The victim, who worked in the D.S.R. Apartment, was identified by her husband, a city civic worker. He reported her missing Friday morning after she failed to return home from work on Thursday. Joggers discovered her body and alerted authorities.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Division), D. Devaraj, confirmed the victim was bludgeoned to death with a boulder, and preliminary investigations suggest sexual assault. The police have registered a case of sexual assault and murder, and an autopsy is pending to further corroborate the assault.
The woman’s lack of citizenship documentation has led police to suspect she may have been an illegal immigrant from Bangladesh. The investigation is ongoing.
