**Kolkata, January 24, 2025:** East Bengal secured a 2-1 victory over Kerala Blasters FC in a thrilling Indian Super League (ISL) encounter at Kolkata on Thursday. The win snapped East Bengal’s three-match losing streak, while handing Kerala Blasters their ninth defeat of the season.
P.V. Vishnu opened the scoring for East Bengal in the 20th minute with a powerful left-footed shot, assisted by Clayton Silva. The lead was doubled in the 72nd minute when Hijazi Maher headed home from a corner, following a cross from Naorem Mahesh Singh.
Kerala Blasters pulled one back in the 84th minute through Danish Farooq, capitalizing on a free-kick situation. Despite late pressure, they were unable to secure an equalizer.
While East Bengal dominated large portions of the game, Kerala Blasters had chances of their own, with a shot from Clayton Silva narrowly missing the target in the first half. A header from Jesús Imaz also went wide.
