Thu Jan 23 11:25:12 UTC 2025: ## J&K’s Umar Nazir Mir Smashes Mumbai’s Top Order in Ranji Trophy Thriller

**SRINAGAR, INDIA** – Jammu and Kashmir’s veteran fast bowler Umar Nazir Mir delivered a stunning performance on Thursday, dismantling Mumbai’s batting line-up in their Ranji Trophy clash. Mir, a 31-year-old with an impressive domestic record, dismissed star players Rohit Sharma (3), Ajinkya Rahane (12), and Shivam Dube (0) in a devastating spell.

Mir’s fiery pace and bounce proved too much for the Mumbai batsmen. He clean-bowled Rahane and accounted for Rohit with a short-pitched delivery that resulted in a leading edge catch. Dube fell victim to a catch by Kanhaiya Wadhawan.

The highly anticipated return of India captain Rohit Sharma and opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal (4) to domestic cricket ended in early disappointment. Jaiswal was trapped lbw by Auqib Nabi, while Rohit’s dismissal was met with palpable shock among the limited crowd.

Mir’s exceptional performance underscores his consistent success in domestic cricket since his 2013 debut. With 138 wickets in 57 Ranji Trophy matches, along with significant List A and T20 achievements, Mir remains a force to be reckoned with. His impressive height (6-foot-4) even earned him a spot in India C’s squad for the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy. The match continues.
