**CHENNAI, January 23, 2025** – India captain Rohit Sharma’s much-anticipated return to Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy team ended abruptly on Thursday. The star batsman was dismissed for a paltry three runs against Jammu & Kashmir in their Round 6 fixture at the BKC Ground.
Opening the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sharma faced only 19 balls before edging a delivery from pacer Umar Nazir to mid-off. Jaiswal also had a disappointing outing, scoring just five runs before being dismissed by Auqib Nabi. Mumbai’s total was a meager 12 at the time of Sharma’s dismissal.
Sharma’s brief appearance follows the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) directive requiring international players to participate in domestic matches.
