**Mysuru, January 23, 2025** – Two Union Ministers have collaborated to improve rural infrastructure in Karnataka. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has approved the construction of bus shelters in Kodi Shettypura and Siddapura Dhakle villages in Mandya district. The project, part of “Additional Road Safety Works” on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway (NH-275), was initiated following a request from Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy, the MP for Mandya.
Kumaraswamy’s September 19, 2024 letter highlighted the need for bus shelters, emphasizing their benefit to the local community. Gadkari swiftly responded on December 30, 2024, confirming approval and stating that bids for construction have already been invited.
Kumaraswamy expressed gratitude for the prompt approval, stating the new shelters represent a crucial step in enhancing rural infrastructure and improving safety and convenience for villagers. The collaboration between the ministers underscores the Union government’s commitment to prioritizing rural development, according to a statement released by Kumaraswamy’s office. The new bus shelters are expected to significantly improve amenities for commuters in Srirangapatna taluk.
