Thu Jan 23 05:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Ukrainian Drones Continue Deep Strikes Against Russian Military Infrastructure
**KYIV, UKRAINE** – Ukrainian forces are escalating their long-range drone attacks against Russian military targets deep within Russian territory, significantly impacting the Russian bomber fleet. Over the past two weeks, Ukrainian drones have repeatedly targeted key infrastructure supporting the Russian air force.
Two separate attacks on a fuel depot near the Engels air base in Saratov, over 400 miles from the Ukrainian border, caused significant damage and disruption. Most recently, on Sunday night, a drone strike hit a fuel depot near the Kazan Aircraft Plant, a facility responsible for the production and maintenance of Russian long-range bombers. Simultaneous attacks targeted a helicopter factory in Kazan and a fuel depot in Bryansk Oblast.
While the specific drone models used remain undisclosed, Ukraine has developed a range of long-range UAVs capable of carrying out such missions. The repeated targeting of fuel depots, both at air bases and industrial sites, aims to increase the cost of the Russian bombing campaign against Ukraine, rather than directly destroying the bombers themselves.
The Ukrainian Center for Strategic Communication confirmed the attacks, highlighting the ongoing effort to disrupt Russia’s ability to launch long-range strikes. Although the attacks may not halt the bombardment of Ukrainian cities completely, they are intended to severely hinder Russia’s air power by disrupting logistics and production. The Ukrainian government has vowed to continue these operations.
