**Seoul, South Korea** – Samsung Electronics launched its highly anticipated Galaxy S25 series today, comprising the Galaxy S25, S25+, and the flagship S25 Ultra. The new lineup boasts significant upgrades in camera technology, AI features, and performance, alongside refined designs.
Pre-launch leaks largely proved accurate, revealing key specifications. The S25 and S25+ feature 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED displays, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and running on Android 15 with One UI 7. Camera features include a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP telephoto lens. Both models will come standard with 12GB of RAM.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra, the series’ crown jewel, stands out with a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display, also using the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Its camera system is a major highlight, featuring a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope lens, and a 50MP ultrawide lens, accompanied by a 12MP front camera. It’s expected to offer options up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Pricing, while not officially confirmed by Samsung until the launch event, is expected to be higher than the S24 series. Early estimates suggest the S25 will start around ₹81,000, the S25+ around ₹95,000, and the S25 Ultra around ₹1.18 lakh. However, US pricing revealed during the launch event places the 12GB+128GB S25 at $799 (approx. ₹69,000), the 12GB+256GB S25+ at $999 (approx. ₹86,400), and the 12GB+256GB S25 Ultra at $1299 (approx. ₹1,12,300), with higher-tier options available at prices up to approximately ₹1,43,400. Pre-orders begin today, with general availability starting February 7th.
Key software enhancements include “Log Video” for wider dynamic range and improved HDR video capture, and “Audio Eraser” for removing unwanted noise from videos. The S25 Ultra’s camera boasts a virtual aperture feature for adjusting focus, customizable filters, and improved thermal management for extended gaming sessions. The series also features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for enhanced durability and an AI-powered upscaler for improved display clarity. All models will feature 120Hz refresh rate displays. Samsung claims an 18% improvement in gaming performance compared to its predecessor.
