Thu Jan 23 11:25:51 UTC 2025: ## JEE Main 2025 Session 1: Day 2 Sees Mixed Reactions to Exam Difficulty
**NEW DELHI** – The second day of the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam is underway, with candidates sitting for the engineering entrance exam (Paper 1) in two shifts today, January 23rd. The exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), continues until January 29th, with Paper 2 (BArch/BPlanning) scheduled for January 30th.
Early reports suggest a mixed bag of difficulty levels across the three sections. While the Chemistry section was largely considered easy, drawing heavily from NCERT textbooks, and Physics was deemed easy to moderate, the Mathematics section proved more challenging for many students. Several students described Mathematics as lengthy and difficult, citing time constraints as a significant hurdle. One student even reported a possible error in a Physics question.
Analysis from Vidyamandir Classes indicates that the Mathematics section was significantly more difficult than Physics and Chemistry, potentially impacting the overall cutoff score. Aakash Educational Services Limited echoed similar sentiments, noting a greater emphasis on Class 12 topics within Mathematics (Calculus, 3D Geometry, Vectors, and Conic Sections) and a concentration of questions on Organic Chemistry within the Chemistry section.
The NTA has reminded candidates to arrive at the exam centers well in advance of the scheduled time to allow for pre-exam security checks. Admit cards, along with photo ID and a photograph matching the application, are required. Calculators and watches are prohibited. Candidates can download their admit cards from jeemain.nta.nic.in. The NTA helpline (0114075900) and email (jeemain@nta.ac.in) are available for inquiries. A rescheduled exam center in Karnataka was also announced by the NTA. The second shift of the exam commenced at 3 pm today.
