Thu Jan 23 10:15:11 UTC 2025: ## JEE Main 2025 Day 1: Chemistry Easy, Maths a Challenge, Say Experts

**NEW DELHI** – The first shift of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, held on January 23rd, presented a mixed bag of difficulty levels, according to expert analysis. While Chemistry proved to be the easiest section, Mathematics posed a significant challenge for many students due to its length and complex calculations. Physics fell somewhere in between, categorized as easy to moderate.

Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director at Aakash Educational Services Limited, provided a detailed breakdown. He noted that Physics questions predominantly focused on Class 12 topics, particularly Optics and Electromagnetism, while Class 11 and areas like Mechanics and Thermodynamics received less attention. A notable number of instrument-based questions were included.

Chemistry, deemed the easiest section, covered a broad range of chapters but saw Organic Chemistry dominate with straightforward questions. Inorganic and Physical Chemistry had comparatively fewer questions.

Mathematics, however, proved to be the most time-consuming. While question complexity wasn’t excessively high, the lengthy calculations required significantly increased the time needed to complete the section. Class 12 topics such as Calculus, 3D Geometry and Vectors, and Conic Sections featured prominently.

Overall, the exam presented a varied challenge, with Chemistry offering a potential time advantage that students could leverage for tackling the more demanding Mathematics section.
