Thu Jan 23 07:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Rohit Sharma Returns to Ranji Trophy After a Decade

**Mumbai, India** – Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma will make his return to the Ranji Trophy after nearly a decade, playing for Mumbai against Jammu and Kashmir starting Thursday at the BKC ground in Mumbai. All eyes will be on Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane expressed confidence in Sharma’s abilities, stating, “Rohit is Rohit. We all know what his personality is like. I’m very happy to have both of them (Rohit and Jaiswal) back in the Mumbai dressing room.” Rahane emphasized Sharma’s relaxed approach and self-awareness, saying he doesn’t need coaching and will find his form once he spends some time at the crease.

Sharma, 37, has faced criticism following recent poor performances in test series against New Zealand and Australia. His last Australian tour saw him score only 31 runs in five innings across three tests. Rahane anticipates this match against Jammu and Kashmir may be Sharma’s only Ranji Trophy appearance this season, as he’s set to captain India in the upcoming three-match ODI series against England starting February 6th, followed by the Champions Trophy. Rahane added that Sharma’s advice during the next four days will be invaluable to the team.
