**New Delhi, January 23, 2024** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 128th birth anniversary. He commemorated the occasion by interacting with school students in Parliament’s Central Hall, engaging them in a conversation about Netaji’s legacy and India’s future.
The Prime Minister’s informal chat with the students, lasting 3 minutes and 27 seconds, was later shared on X (formerly Twitter). During the interaction, Modi inquired about their daily routines, including their school lunchboxes, eliciting laughter from the children. He then steered the conversation towards India’s goals for 2047, with the students correctly identifying the aim of achieving developed nation status. The discussion also touched upon the “PM-KUSUM” (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) scheme, highlighting its role in combating climate change through solar energy adoption. In addition to commemorating Netaji’s birth anniversary, Modi also paid tributes to Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray on his 99th birth anniversary. This event was marked by contrasting reactions, with Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut calling for Thackeray to be awarded the Bharat Ratna.
