**COIMBATORE, January 22, 2025** – A spotted deer was found dead on the Coimbatore-Pollachi Road on Wednesday morning, reportedly after being struck by a vehicle. Forest Department officials discovered the carcass of a stag near Santhegoundanpalayam. Local residents alerted authorities, leading to the recovery and post-mortem examination of the animal by Forest Veterinary Officer E. Vijayaraghavan. Pollachi Forest Range Officer K. Gnanabalamurugan confirmed that the deer was buried following the examination. The driver of the vehicle responsible remains unknown.
