**Chennai, India –** Royal Enfield has launched the Scram 440, a significant upgrade to its popular Scram 411 adventure motorcycle. The new model boasts a range of improvements, starting with a larger, more powerful 443cc engine delivering 25.4bhp and 34Nm of torque – a 4.5% and 6.5% increase respectively over its predecessor. This is paired with a smoother six-speed gearbox and a lighter clutch for improved rider experience.

Beyond the engine, the Scram 440 receives substantial upgrades. These include a strengthened frame, upgraded suspension with 190mm front and 180mm rear travel, a higher ground clearance of 200mm, cast aluminum alloy wheels with tubeless tires (on the Force variant), and switchable ABS. The bike also features a new LED headlight and a selection of five fresh colorways: Force Blue, Force Grey, Force Teal, Trail Green, and Trail Blue.

While retaining the familiar Scram design, the 440 adds practical features like top box compatibility and a wide array of optional accessories, including crash guards and panniers. The starting price is ₹2.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai).

Test rides are currently available, and Royal Enfield expects the combination of increased power, improved handling, and added features to make the Scram 440 a more compelling offering than its predecessor. A full road test will be needed to confirm this.
