**Kozhikode, January 22, 2025** – Under Officer V.P. Theja, a Mass Communication and Journalism student from Kalpetta, has been awarded the prestigious Raksha Mantri Padak, the highest honor for NCC cadets. The award was presented by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at the Republic Day Camp investiture ceremony in New Delhi.
Ms. Theja, a member of the 5 Kerala Bn NCC, Wayanad, received the accolade for her exceptional service and compassion during last year’s devastating Wayanad landslides. She played a crucial role in coordinating relief efforts, distributing aid, and assisting the injured and displaced, often working under extremely challenging conditions.
In a press release issued Tuesday, Ms. Theja attributed her success to the teamwork and contributions of her fellow cadets. She humbly dedicated the award to her entire team.
