**Mumbai, India –** Maharashtra has announced a massive influx of investment on the first day of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, securing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) totaling over ₹4.99 lakh crore (approximately $60 billion USD). This investment spree is expected to generate over 92,000 jobs across diverse sectors.

The largest single deal, a ₹3 lakh crore commitment from the JSW Group, will encompass steel, renewable energy, cement, infrastructure, and electric vehicles (EVs), creating 10,000 jobs primarily in Nagpur and Gadchiroli. This marks a significant milestone for Gadchiroli, a region traditionally underserved by industrial development.

Other key investments include:

* **Kalyani Group:** ₹5,200 crore in defence, steel, and EVs, creating 4,000 jobs in Gadchiroli.
* **Reliance Infrastructure:** ₹16,500 crore in the defence sector in Ratnagiri.
* **Balasore Alloys Ltd. and Viraj Profiles Pvt. Ltd.:** A combined ₹29,000 crore in steel and metals, generating thousands of jobs.
* **Wari Energy:** ₹30,000 crore in solar devices, creating 7,500 jobs in Nagpur.
* **Blackstone:** ₹25,000 crore in IT infrastructure across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), generating 1,000 jobs.
* **AB InBev and Bisleri International:** Investments in food and beverages totaling ₹1000 crore.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde attributed the success to the state’s improved “Ease of Doing Business” environment, stating that investors are eager to participate in the state’s economic growth. He highlighted the diverse nature of the investments, spanning sectors like green energy, electronics, logistics, and IT.

Furthermore, an agreement with Fuel (Friends Union for Energizing Lives) will train 5,000 young Maharashtrians in AI, digital marketing, and business analytics, with plans to establish a Fuel Skilltech University in Pune. The Chief Minister emphasized the speed and efficiency of the investment process as a key factor in attracting this substantial investment.
