**TEL AVIV, ISRAEL** – A knife-wielding assailant left four people wounded in a stabbing attack in central Tel Aviv on Tuesday before being fatally shot by authorities. The attack, which occurred in the popular Nahalat Binyamin Street and nearby Gruzenberg Street, known for its vibrant restaurants and nightlife, prompted a large police response and the immediate cordoning off of the area.
Three victims were rushed to Ichilov Hospital, one in serious condition with a neck wound requiring surgery. A fourth victim sustained injuries in a separate but related stabbing. An AFP journalist witnessed the body of the attacker at the scene.
Police investigations indicate the assailant targeted three civilians on Nahalat Binyamin Street and one on Gruzenberg Street. While no group has claimed responsibility, Hamas issued a statement praising the attack as a “heroic stabbing operation,” suggesting a surge in resistance against Israel.
This marks the second stabbing attack in Tel Aviv within four days. A similar incident on Saturday left one person seriously wounded before the attacker was neutralized by a civilian. The recent spate of violence has heightened security concerns in the city.
