Wed Jan 22 18:21:23 UTC 2025: ## Ayodhya Celebrates First Anniversary of Ram Lalla’s Enthronement Amidst Massive Mahakumbh Crowds
**Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh –** The sacred city of Ayodhya is overflowing with devotion as it marks the first anniversary of Ram Lalla’s “pran pratisthta” (consecration ceremony) at the Ram Mandir. While the Trust officially celebrated the anniversary on January 11th, aligning with the Hindu calendar, January 22nd marked the date of the ceremony itself, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a year prior.
Thousands of devotees flocked to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on Wednesday to commemorate the event. One devotee from Hyderabad described the visit as the culmination of a 500-year struggle, praising the temple’s efficient organization and security. Another from Rajasthan expressed excitement, attributing their presence to Ram Lalla’s blessings.
The celebrations extended beyond the anniversary date, encompassing a three-day event culminating with the ceremonial enthronement of a Ram Darbar on the temple’s first floor, featuring marble idols of Lord Ram, Sita, Hanuman, and his brothers. Ram Lalla remains enshrined in the ground floor sanctum sanctorum.
Uttar Pradesh minister Jaiveer Singh hailed the day as historic, highlighting the culmination of centuries of efforts. The influx of devotees has intensified since the beginning of the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 on January 13th, with even larger crowds expected for the Mauni Amavasya Shahi Snan on January 29th. The Mela concludes on February 26th.
Meanwhile, Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, announced that the temple complex construction remains on schedule for completion in March. This includes the installation of the Ram Darbar on the first floor and the finalization of idol iconography. He also stated that the transfer of completed infrastructure elements, such as fire safety and sewage systems, to the temple trust is expected within the next 15 days.
