Tue Jan 21 09:30:00 IST 2025: **Tirumala Temple Adds Masala Vada to Annaprasadam Menu**
TIRUMALA, INDIA – The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has added masala vada to the menu of its Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam centre, starting Monday. Initially, 5,000 vadas were served as a trial run. The TTD plans to fully implement the addition after a week-long observation period. Devotees have expressed satisfaction with the quality of the annaprasadam and the new addition.
This announcement follows a successful Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam period (January 10-19), during which 6.83 lakh devotees received darshan. The temple collected ₹34.43 crore in hundis (donation boxes) and received 1,13,132 offerings of hair. The number of devotees visiting for darshan remains generally stable. The TTD reports that devotees waiting for Srivari darshan without SSD tokens are expected to receive darshan within 15 hours.
