Tue Jan 21 01:08:56 UTC 2025: ## Gaza Receives Major Aid Influx Following Ceasefire

**GAZA CITY, January 21, 2025** – A significant surge in aid has reached Gaza following the Hamas-Israel ceasefire, the United Nations announced today. A total of 915 trucks carrying essential supplies crossed into the territory on Monday, exceeding the 600 trucks initially agreed upon.

UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq confirmed the figures, citing information from Israeli authorities and ceasefire guarantors. The aid includes food, clean water, shelter materials, and other necessities for Gaza’s more than two million residents, roughly half of whom are children.

UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher has described the needs in Gaza as “staggering.” The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a 60-day plan to bolster hospital capacity and deploy international medical personnel, addressing the urgent needs of approximately 30,000 Palestinians with life-altering injuries requiring specialized care. The UN continues to coordinate the aid delivery efforts.
