Tue Jan 21 05:20:00 UTC 2025: ## SpaceX Targets Midnight Launch of Starlink Satellites Amid Uncertain Weather

**Cape Canaveral, FL** – SpaceX is poised to launch another batch of Starlink internet satellites early Tuesday morning, but weather conditions pose a potential challenge. A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Starlink 13-1 mission is scheduled to lift off from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at 12:24 a.m. EST (0524 UTC).

The 45th Weather Squadron forecasts a significant drop in favorable launch conditions throughout the window, from 85 percent at the start to just 40 percent by the end. The primary concern is the potential for thick cloud layers and cumulus clouds as rain moves in from the south. A backup launch window 24 hours later offers a significantly lower 10 percent chance of favorable weather.

This mission will utilize Falcon 9 booster B1083, a veteran of several previous launches, including Crew-8, Polaris Dawn, and CRS-31. SpaceX aims for a record-breaking 95th landing of this booster on the droneship “A Shortfall of Gravias” in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Starlink 13-1 mission marks SpaceX’s fifth dedicated Starlink launch of the year and its ninth orbital launch in 2025. Spaceflight Now will provide live coverage starting an hour before liftoff.
