Tue Jan 21 08:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Kings Dominate Wizards, Extending Winning Streak

**SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)** — The Sacramento Kings continued their impressive run, defeating the Washington Wizards 123-100 on Sunday night. Domantas Sabonis led the charge with a dominant performance, scoring 29 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. The victory marks the Kings’ ninth win in their last 10 games, pushing them to a record above .500 for the first time since November.

De’Aaron Fox contributed 12 points and a season-high 13 assists, while DeMar DeRozan added 24 points and Malik Monk chipped in 23. Keon Ellis impressed with 18 points, hitting 6 of 8 three-point attempts. Sabonis’s performance was particularly noteworthy, showcasing his efficiency with a 12-for-16 shooting night, punctuated by several powerful dunks. Ellis’s three late third-quarter three-pointers, including a buzzer-beater, further extended the Kings’ lead.

The Wizards, meanwhile, suffered their tenth consecutive loss, extending their second double-digit losing streak of the season. Jonas Valanciunas led the Wizards with 23 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Kings’ strong offensive performance and defensive pressure, which limited Washington to 36% shooting from the field and 24% from three-point range.

The Kings’ victory saw them build a double-digit lead in the second quarter, reaching a 24-point advantage in the second half. After falling behind early, Sacramento quickly took control of the game. Sabonis’s 18 points and 11 rebounds in the first half were instrumental in this turnaround.

The Wizards will look to end their losing streak when they face the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. The Kings, riding high on their success, will host the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.
