Sun Jan 19 19:31:40 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Students Protest Higher Secondary Exam Time Change

**MALAPPURAM, Kerala, January 20, 2025** – A student conference in Perinthalmanna, Kerala, has voiced strong opposition to the proposed change in the timing of higher secondary examinations. The “Enrich Exam Pointer” conference, organized by Wisdom Students, argues that shifting the exams to the afternoon will negatively impact student morale, particularly during the hot days of Ramadan.

P.P. Naseef, State vice president of Wisdom Youth, inaugurated the conference and criticized the decision. He stated that holding both SSLC and higher secondary exams in the morning would be more beneficial for students. The extended duration of higher secondary exams (18 days compared to SSLC’s 9 days) further compounds the problem, he added. Dr. Naseef echoed these concerns, highlighting the detrimental effects of the change, especially during Ramadan’s heat.

The conference, a precursor to a larger student gathering planned for May 11th, serves as a platform for students to express their concerns about the exam scheduling change. Abdulla Naseem V.K., zonal president of Wisdom Students, presided over the event.
