Sun Jan 19 19:35:08 UTC 2025: ## Congress Candidate Accuses Kejriwal of Misogyny in Delhi Election Race

**New Delhi, January 20, 2025** – Congress candidate Alka Lamba, contesting the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections from the Kalkaji constituency, has accused both her BJP and AAP rivals of misogyny. Lamba, a veteran Delhi politician with a history of student activism and legislative experience, claims that misogyny has been a constant in Delhi’s political landscape for the past 30 years, citing personal experiences of harassment.

Lamba specifically criticized BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri for his derogatory comments about women leaders, stating they have “spoilt the atmosphere.” She also targeted AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of disrespecting women by portraying his Chief Ministerial candidate, Atishi, as a “stopgap CM,” thereby implying her inferiority.

Lamba, who previously served as an AAP MLA before rejoining Congress, further accused the AAP of abandoning its initial anti-corruption and anti-pollution agenda, alleging it now engages in “politics of religion.” She cited the AAP’s announcement of honorariums for Hindu and Sikh religious leaders while neglecting imams as an example.

Lamba, who previously ran against political heavyweights like Madan Lal Khurana, highlighted her experience spearheading the ₹90 crore Chandni Chowk redevelopment project as evidence of her ability to deliver results. She believes her experience in old Delhi can be successfully translated to Kalkaji, which she sees as facing similar infrastructural challenges. Lamba expressed confidence that Delhi voters will recognize the Congress’s contributions and support the party in the upcoming elections.
