**Bengaluru, January 20, 2025:** The Karnataka State Government NPS Employees Association has threatened a protest on February 7th if the state government fails to revert to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in the upcoming 2025-2026 budget. The association rejected the Centre’s proposed Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) and reiterated its demand for the OPS, a promise made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on January 1, 2023. The association’s statement following a Sunday meeting declared that a dharna will proceed if their demands, outlined in the Congress manifesto, are not met. Furthermore, the association voiced its opposition to a committee formed to study states that have already switched back to the OPS.
