**Mysuru, Karnataka –** Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has accused the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) of issuing a misleading statement regarding a probe into alleged irregularities in land allotments by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The ED recently tweeted about the provisional attachment of properties, leading to speculation about its connection to the allotment of 14 sites to the Chief Minister’s wife.
Yathindra Siddaramaiah clarified that the attached properties are unrelated to the compensatory sites allotted to his mother. He suggested the ED’s statement was a deliberate attempt to influence a pending court ruling on a petition to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He further asserted that the alleged irregularities occurred during the previous BJP government’s tenure, holding them accountable for any lapses.
Social Welfare Minister H. C. Mahadevappa echoed these sentiments, stating the ED’s statement was an attempt to damage Siddaramaiah’s reputation. He claimed that the ED, finding no wrongdoing in the allotment to the Chief Minister’s wife, linked it to other unrelated irregularities. Both ministers criticized the ED’s actions, calling the misleading statement detrimental to democratic processes. The Chief Minister’s legal team is currently reviewing the matter.
