Sun Jan 19 15:59:24 UTC 2025: ## Tamil Nadu to Develop New Tourist Parks at a Cost of ₹33 Crore

**Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu –** The Tamil Nadu Department of Tourism plans to invest ₹33.65 crore in developing new tourism infrastructure across the state, Tourism Minister R. Rajendran announced on Sunday. Key projects include the creation of two new parks: a ₹5.15 crore park at the Amaravathi Dam and an ₹18.5 crore park at the Thirumoorthy Dam (pending government approval). Further investment of ₹39 lakh will enhance tourism facilities at the Ammanalingeswarar Temple and Panchalinga Falls.

Minister Rajendran, along with Ministers M.P. Saminathan and N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, also inaugurated a new Fire and Rescue Service Station in Madathukulam and visited the Amaravathi Cooperative Sugar Mill and crocodile farm to assess tourism potential.

The Minister also revealed plans for a ₹10 crore investment at the Aliyar Dam to develop a boathouse, water sports facilities, and a park. The department is also exploring ways to replenish the Kothavadi Lake to boost its tourism appeal. These initiatives aim to significantly enhance tourism in the region.
