**New Delhi, January 19, 2025** – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed an assassination attempt was made on him during election campaigning on Saturday. Addressing the media on Sunday, Kejriwal alleged that goons working for BJP candidate Parvesh Verma attacked his vehicle in the New Delhi constituency.
Kejriwal stated that such violence during a campaign is unprecedented in Delhi. He attributed the alleged attack to the BJP’s fear of losing the election, dismissing Verma’s prediction of a 20,000-vote defeat.
Separately, Kejriwal announced he had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, proposing a joint housing scheme for government employees. The Delhi government would build the houses, with the Centre providing land. The initiative would initially benefit sanitation workers before expanding to other government employees.
