**NEW DELHI, January 19, 2025** – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, slated to begin on February 19th. The team features a mix of experienced players and new talent. Notably, six players from the 2017 Champions Trophy squad have been retained.

Leading the team is Virat Kohli, who captained India in the 2017 tournament, scoring 258 runs in five innings. Rohit Sharma, the top scorer in 2017 with 304 runs in five matches, returns as opener. Hardik Pandya also makes a comeback, bringing his all-rounder skills to the table. He scored 105 runs and took 4 wickets in the 2017 edition.

Other returning players include Ravindra Jadeja (4 wickets, 15 runs in 2017), and Jasprit Bumrah (4 wickets in 2017). Interestingly, Mohammed Shami, although part of the 2017 squad, did not play a match then and will now make his Champions Trophy debut.
