**CHENNAI, January 19, 2025** – A policewoman was the victim of a brazen chain-snatching incident in West Tambaram, Chennai, on Friday night. Indira, a City Police Commissionerate employee, had her five-sovereign gold chain snatched by two men on a motorbike as she approached her home on Devaraja Salai. Despite giving chase, she was unable to apprehend the suspects.
The incident, captured on video and subsequently shared widely on social media, prompted a swift police response. While officers intercepted potential suspects at the GST Road and Gandhi Salai junction, the culprits escaped.
