Sun Jan 19 02:50:00 UTC 2025: ## India Unveils Squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Bumrah’s Fitness Key Focus

**Dubai, UAE –** India has announced its squad for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, aiming for a third title under captain Rohit Sharma. The squad includes a mix of experienced players and exciting new talent, but the fitness of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be a key focus in the lead-up to the tournament.

Bumrah, who recently recovered from injury, has been included, but Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar confirmed the team management will closely monitor his progress. As a precautionary measure, Harshit Rana has been added to the squad for the upcoming England ODI series as a cover for Bumrah.

The batting line-up features the usual suspects: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill, with the addition of Yashasvi Jaiswal. KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant will handle the middle order. Hardik Pandya is the sole pace-bowling all-rounder, while Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar provide spin-bowling all-round support. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav also makes a return after injury.

The pace attack will rely on Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya.

India’s Champions Trophy campaign kicks off on February 20th against Bangladesh in Dubai, followed by matches against Pakistan on February 23rd and New Zealand on March 2nd. The team will be looking to improve on their last appearance in the tournament, where they reached the final but lost to Pakistan. The selection of Jaiswal and the omission of Nair were among the key talking points following the squad announcement.
