**KOCHI, January 19, 2025** – A new initiative aimed at combating corruption has launched in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The Ernakulam District Residents’ Associations’ Apex Council (EDRAAC) and the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) have jointly formed the “Residents’ Associations’ Anti-Corruption Movement.” The movement will operate through 42 sub-committees across the district.

VACB Superintendent of Police S. Sasidharan inaugurated the committee, highlighting the crucial role residents’ associations play in rooting out corruption. EDRAAC president Rangadasa Prabhu presided over the event, and Confederation of Residents’ Welfare Associations national general secretary P.C. Ajithkumar delivered the keynote address. The initiative aims to leverage the collective power of local communities to identify and report corrupt practices.
