**Hyderabad, January 18, 2025** – A major racket involving fraudulent vehicle insurance policies and forged government documents has been busted in Hyderabad. Three men, identified as RTA agents Md Awyes (38) and Buneti Shravan Kumar Goud (41), and Morsu Shiva Kumar (33), were arrested on Friday by the Shamshabad Special Operations Team (SOT). Ten other suspects remain at large.
The scam came to light after an insurance company reported the issuance of fake insurance documents in their name. A subsequent raid in Thondupalli village uncovered a sophisticated operation creating counterfeit policies for prominent insurance companies like Reliance General, Bajaj, HDFC, ICICI, and Tata AIG. The gang also forged Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, voter IDs, and utility bills.
Police seized 22 fake insurance policies and discovered the gang used WhatsApp to distribute the forged documents and UPI platforms for payments. The investigation suggests the gang targeted individuals seeking assistance with RTO processes. The seized materials have been handed over to the Shamshabad police station for further investigation.
