**Chandigarh, January 17, 2025** – The Punjab government announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art Security Operations Centre (SOC) to bolster its cybersecurity infrastructure. The ₹42.07 crore initiative, approved at a Board of Governors meeting of the Punjab State e-Governance Society (PSeGS), aims to protect critical IT infrastructure, including government websites and applications.

Governance Reforms Minister Aman Arora stated that the SOC will place Punjab at the forefront of cybersecurity in northern India, enabling real-time monitoring, detection, and response to cyber threats. He emphasized the increasing sophistication and pervasiveness of modern cyberattacks, highlighting the urgency of this investment.

Following the announcement, Minister Arora conducted a video conference with Deputy Commissioners to review governance reforms and citizen service delivery strategies. Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Pratap reiterated the government’s commitment to transparent and efficient public services.
