**New Delhi, January 17, 2025** – With nominations for the February 5th Delhi Assembly elections closing today, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its final batch of candidates yesterday. The party named candidates for the Greater Kailash and Babarpur constituencies, where sitting AAP ministers are contesting. Shikha Rai will challenge Saurabh Bharadwaj in Greater Kailash, and Anil Vashishth will face Gopal Rai in Babarpur. This brings the BJP’s total candidate count to 68 out of 70 seats.

The Janata Dal (United), a BJP ally, also declared its candidate for Burari, Shailendra Kumar. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is expected to announce its candidate for Deoli soon. Other notable BJP candidates include Bhuvan Tanwar in Delhi Cantonment, Chandan Kumar Chaudhary in Sangam Vihar, and Sanjay Goyal in Shahdara.

Several key candidates from various parties, including BJP’s Harish Khurana, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Arvinder Singh Lovely, along with Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit and AAP’s Manish Sisodia, submitted their nomination papers. The deadline for nominations is January 17th, with withdrawals allowed until January 20th.
