**Mumbai, India –** Yashasvi Jaiswal, India’s leading run-scorer in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, has joined the Mumbai cricket team camp ahead of the Ranji Trophy. The 23-year-old Rajasthan Royals player participated in a net session at the Bandra Kurla Complex Ground on Wednesday.
Jaiswal had a phenomenal 2024, amassing 1478 international runs at an average of 54.74 and a strike rate nearing 70. His impressive Border-Gavaskar Trophy performance saw him score 391 runs in five matches at an average of 43.44, including a stunning 161 in Perth and two half-centuries in Melbourne. He also achieved a world record 36 sixes in Test matches during the year.
His exceptional form earned him a place in Cricket Australia’s best Test team of 2024 and currently sits fourth in the ICC Test batting rankings. Jaiswal’s impressive Ranji Trophy record includes 498 runs in three matches in 2022 and 315 runs in five matches in 2023. He will be aiming to continue his success with Mumbai, who are currently third in Elite Group A and face Jammu & Kashmir on January 23.
