**Mumbai, January 16, 2025** – Mumbai police have released a CCTV image of the assailant who attacked Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence early Thursday morning. The image, captured from a security camera in Saif Ali Khan’s apartment building, shows the suspect descending a staircase. The footage has since gone viral on social media.
Khan was attacked during a suspected burglary attempt. The actor confronted the intruder, leading to a struggle and resulting in Khan being stabbed. He was subsequently transported to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent surgery. While seriously injured, authorities have confirmed that he is out of danger and a health bulletin has been released. Khan’s wife, Kareena Kapoor, was not home at the time of the attack but rushed to his side upon learning of the incident.
Fifteen police teams, including eight from the Mumbai Crime Branch, are investigating the case. Police have also examined CCTV footage from neighboring buildings and collected evidence from the scene. The investigation is focusing on how the suspect gained access to Khan’s residence, which appears to have been through a service entrance. A city-wide search for the suspect is underway.
