**Palakkad, Kerala, January 16, 2025** – The second annual Pookalam flower show opened Thursday at Malampuzha Garden near Palakkad, Kerala, attracting a large crowd. The show, a joint venture between the District Tourism Promotion Council and the Irrigation Department, was inaugurated by MLA A. Prabhakaran.

Prabhakaran highlighted efforts to revitalize the historic garden, announcing the completion of a ₹4 crore electrification project funded by his MLA fund. He acknowledged the impact of climate change on the garden’s plant life, urging supervisors to adapt to the changing weather patterns. He also expressed hope to restore Malampuzha Garden’s prominence as a filming location, recalling its past appearances in numerous Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam films.

Measures have been put in place to manage traffic congestion, a problem experienced during last year’s successful show. The event, which runs until January 22, is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Entry fees are ₹50 for adults and ₹20 for children. The inauguration was attended by several local officials, including the Malampuzha grama panchayat president and other dignitaries.
