ERODE, Tamil Nadu – January 16, 2025 – A family of four, including two young children, died by suicide in Gobichettipalayam taluk on Wednesday following a domestic dispute, police reported. P. Dhanasekar (36), his wife D. Balamani (29), and their children, D. Vandhana (10) and D. Monish (7), were found dead after consuming poison.
The couple, employed at a garment factory, reportedly had an argument stemming from Dhanasekar’s irregular work attendance. The argument escalated, leading them to consume poison. While their children initially resisted ingesting the poison, they later succumbed to their injuries at the Government Erode Medical College and Hospital in Perundurai, despite neighbours’ efforts to save them.
