**NEW DELHI –** The Delhi Department of Education (DoE) will announce the first merit list for nursery, KG, and Class 1 admissions in private unaided recognized schools on January 17, 2025. Following the release, a query resolution window will be open from January 18 to 27. A second list, if necessary, will be published on February 3, with a subsequent query resolution period from February 5 to 11.
The registration process, which concluded on January 3, 2025, saw high demand for the approximately 1,741 private schools in Delhi. The admissions process includes a 25% reservation for students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and children with disabilities. Families with an annual income below Rs 5 lakh are eligible for EWS consideration. The deadline to apply for these reserved seats is February 19, 2025, with the first lottery draw for shortlisted candidates scheduled for March 3, 2025.
Minimum age requirements for admission are three years for nursery (as of March 31, 2025), four years for KG, and five years for Class 1. Parents are encouraged to check the DoE website for further details and updates.
