Thu Jan 16 15:30:09 UTC 2025: ## Tamil Nadu Postal Department Promotes Welfare Schemes in Kanniyakumari

**KANNIYAKUMARI, January 16, 2025** – The Department of Posts held a Dak Community Development Programme (DCDP) in Vazhukkamparai, Kanniyakumari district, on Wednesday to raise awareness about state and central government welfare schemes, as well as postal department initiatives.

Chief Postmaster General of the Tamil Nadu postal circle, Mariamma Thomas, distributed passbooks for Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts and Mahila Samman Savings certificates to beneficiaries. Cheques were also given to recipients of the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) General Insurance accidental policy, and IPPB QR code cards were issued to local merchants to simplify access to postal services.

Ms. Thomas emphasized the vital role of the postal department and thanked panchayat presidents and representatives from public and social welfare organizations for their support in promoting these schemes. G. Senthil Kumar (Superintendent of Post Offices, Kanniyakumari division) and S. Parameswaran (Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices) were among the officials present at the event.
