Thu Jan 16 16:28:11 UTC 2025: ## Brazilian National Flees Bengaluru After Allegedly Stealing Luxury Watches from Airport Duty-Free
**Bengaluru, India –** A Brazilian national is under investigation for allegedly stealing two luxury watches from a duty-free store at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. The incident, which occurred on January 4th, only came to light on January 13th when Ethos Summit, a high-end watch boutique at Terminal 2, reported the theft.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Ravi Gama De Sa, reportedly purchased a Tag Heuer watch before allegedly concealing two Frederique Constant watches, valued at ₹94,500 and ₹2.4 lakh respectively, while browsing other models. Before leaving, he reportedly told a staff member, “You will never forget me.”
De Sa, who spent over an hour in the store, also left his passport and boarding pass on the counter, using this as a distraction to facilitate the theft. He legitimately purchased four other luxury watches totaling ₹8 lakh before boarding his flight back to Brazil.
The theft was discovered during a routine inventory check, and CCTV footage confirmed De Sa’s involvement. While currently out of the reach of Indian authorities, a case has been registered against him under Section 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for theft. Police have indicated that legal action will be pursued should he return to Bengaluru.
