Mon Jan 13 20:13:45 UTC 2025: ## Vidarbha’s Nair Makes History with Fourth Consecutive Century in Vijay Hazare Trophy

**Vadodara, India –** Vidarbha captain Karun Nair continued his incredible run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, smashing his fourth consecutive century in a resounding quarter-final victory over Rajasthan on Sunday. Chasing 292, Nair, 33, anchored the chase, reaching his hundred off just 77 deliveries, a feat that includes 11 fours and three sixes. This remarkable achievement makes him only the third Indian and fifth batsman globally to score four consecutive List A centuries.

Nair’s blistering innings, which included a 24-run blitz off five balls against Khaleel Ahmed, propelled Vidarbha to a comfortable nine-wicket win in 43.3 overs. His previous scores in this extraordinary streak were 112*, 111*, 163*, and 44*. This run also includes a world record for most runs between dismissals in List A cricket.

This is Nair’s fifth century in the current Vijay Hazare Trophy, making him only the second player to achieve this milestone in a single edition, after Tamil Nadu’s N Jagadeesan. He joins an elite group including Jagadeesan, Devdutt Padikkal, Kumar Sangakkara, and Alviro Petersen as one of only five batsmen to achieve four consecutive List A centuries. Jagadeesan holds the world record with five consecutive centuries. Vidarbha, having won all their group matches, including a 10-wicket victory over Mizoram, now progresses to the semi-finals.
