Tue Jan 14 09:23:33 UTC 2025: ## Defence Minister Praises J&K CM’s Efforts to Bridge Gap with Delhi

**Jammu, January 14, 2025** – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today lauded Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his efforts in strengthening ties between the region and the national capital. Speaking at the ninth Armed Forces Veterans’ Day rally in Akhnoor, Singh emphasized the BJP government’s commitment to treating Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi equally.

Singh highlighted a historical disparity in treatment of Kashmir, stating that previous governments created a disconnect between the region and Delhi. He credited the current government with bridging this “distance between hearts,” and specifically praised CM Abdullah’s role in this progress, acknowledging that some gap remains.

The Defence Minister also condemned remarks made by Pakistan-occupied Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq against India, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is incomplete without Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Singh’s address at the Akhnoor rally served as a display of the government’s commitment to equitable treatment of the region, as he extended New Year and Makar Sankranti greetings to veterans, underscoring that Kashmir is now treated with the same importance as Delhi.
